ActivePulse Hosts Bangladesh’s First Duathlon

Bangladesh’s First Duathlon

History was made on August 30 in Purbachal, Dhaka. For the first time, Bangladesh saw an official duathlon take place on its own soil. The “ActivePulse Duathlon Dhaka 2025,” hosted by ActivePulse Bangladesh, drew hundreds of eager athletes. The format was a 5km run, a 30km bike ride, and another 5km run to finish. Simple on paper but brutal in reality.

This wasn’t just another weekend race. It was the country’s first Powerman-affiliated event. For years, Bangladeshi athletes had to fly abroad just to train or compete in such challenges. Now they finally got a taste of the global stage right here at home.

Pulling it off wasn’t easy. ActivePulse treated this as a pilot project, testing everything from timing systems to logistics. The result was a professional event that looked nothing like a first attempt. And if you ask the participants, it felt like the start of something much bigger.

Runners Celebrate Historic Finish

One runner, Md. Tareq Uddin could hardly hide his excitement. “Heartfelt thanks to ActivePulse Bangladesh,” he wrote after crossing the finish line. He praised organizers, Md. Tanvir Hasan and Morsaline Ahmmed for making the impossible possible. His words captured the mood of the day: this wasn’t just a race–it was the birth of a new community.

Zahidul Islam, another participant, called the event “cozy” but packed with pro-level execution. He was thrilled to race alongside some of Bangladesh’s top endurance athletes. “This will be a cornerstone,” he added, hinting at what many believe: this was only the beginning.

Then there was Imtiaz Ishtiaq, who clocked 2 hours and 4 minutes to complete the full distance. His post summed it up neatly: “RUN-BIKE-RUN. A new remark got written in the history of endurance sports in Bangladesh.” You could almost feel the pride through his words.

Social media lit up with praise after the race. Comments poured in–congratulations, thank-yous, and messages of sheer awe. One supporter wrote, “The dedication and desire you show at this stage of life are truly inspiring.” Another said, “Congratulations isn’t enough–you deserve more than just praise.” Let’s be honest: how often do athletes in Bangladesh get this kind of platform?

What’s Next For Duathlons?

So, why does this matter? Endurance sports here are still young. Marathons, triathlons, duathlons–these aren’t everyday fixtures in Dhaka. Hosting an international-standard duathlon means doors are finally opening. It means young athletes don’t have to look overseas for every big race.

Of course, one question remains: what’s next? Tareq, Zahidul, Imtiaz, and countless others are already dreaming bigger. Many hope to see a full-scale Powerman Duathlon in Bangladesh soon.

This event wasn’t just a race. It was proof of what’s possible when passion meets planning. Bangladesh’s first official duathlon may have ended at the finish line in Purbachal–but in reality, it was just the starting gun for something much larger.
